Delta, United and American Airlines, the three largest airlines in the USA, announced that they will not charge ticket change fees for domestic flights.
Firstly, United announced that it was permanently removing the change fee on domestic routes. Within days, Delta and American followed the same approach.
American Airlines announced that change fees for all domestic and short-haul international flights will be lifted, including flights to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and the USA.
Delta, on the other hand, removes the change fee on domestic flights, including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Last week, United announced that it will not apply any change fees to standard economy and premium cabin tickets and will offer free stand-by.
In the United States, other airlines, except Southwest, also decided not to apply change fees until the end of the year due to the covid-19 pandemic.
