Trivago sells Base7booking to Mews

Mews, a leader in cloud property management systems, announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire the product line, Base7booking from trivago, a leading global accommodation search platform.

With 1000 customers located throughout Europe, Base7booking is a cloud-based property management system designed for independent properties. The acquisition by Mews will include the Base7booking product line, customers and customer support team.

Weโ€™re excited to have found an agreement with a market leader in property management systems. Weโ€™re very confident that Mews will be an excellent technology partner for the Base7booking customers and team.โ€

The acquisition is part of Mewsโ€™ European growth plans. The Base7booking customer base is located throughout the region, notably in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Richard Valtr, Founder of Mews said, โ€œWhile our industry has been heavily affected by the pandemic, weโ€™re laser-focused on the recovery which is expected to begin in 1H 2021. Now is the moment for the thousand-strong customers from Base7booking to join Mews so they can take full advantage of our technology and expertise in hotel automation.โ€

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020.
