Booking.com to close 5 offices globally

Booking.com, one of the giants of online travel, is closing at least five offices globally, including two offices in the UK (London and Cambridge), Bellevue-Washington (USA) Toronto (Canada) and Split (Croatia).


According to the Shorttermrentalz portal, the company announced the layoffs and other cost measures on Thursday, September 10, during a live meeting with more than 800 employees.


Booking.com announced in early August that 25% of the company’s employees had to be redundant due to the covid-19 crisis .


400 workers in the UK, 235 in Washington, about 500 in Canada, and 10 in Croatia are expected to be affected by the relevant decisions. Booking.com has around 17,000 employees, including 5,500 in Amsterdam.
