Turkey reports $ 3 Billion Quarterly Tourism Revenue

Turkey has reported 3 Billion dollars tourism revenue for the 2nd quarter of 2021.


According to the data revealed by the Turkish Statistical Institue, Turkey hosted 4.66 million visitors in the last 3 months. While 77.3% of visitors was foreign with 3 million 144 thousand 815 persons, 22.7% of them was Turkish citizens resident abroad with 921 thousand 395 persons.


In the second quarter of 2021 tourism income was 3 billion 3 million 628 thousand dollars while the average expenditure was 739 dollars and the overnight income was 57 dollars.

In the first half of the year Turkey hosted 770.000 Ukranian visitors representing 13.5% of all foreign visitors. Russia was the second busiest source market with 13.04% share and with 747.000 visitors. Germany (516.404), Bulgaria (332.257) and Iran (318.333) were also in top five.

Tourism expenditure was 335 Million dollars


Tourism expenditure which is the expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident in Turkey and visited abroad was 334 million 936 thousand dollars. While 333 million 704 thousand dollars of total expenditures was individual expenditures, 1 million 232 thousand dollars of tourism expenditures was package tour expenditures.


In this quarter number of Turkish citizens visited abroad was 395 thousand 189. Average expenditure was 848 dollars per person.
