Roughly 650.000 foreign tourist from 155 countries visited Azerbaijan in the first 8 months, 70% lower than 2019.
Like any other country; Covid-19 and related travel restrictions shrinked tourist numbers of Azerbaijan sharply.
The highest number of visitors came from Russia with 28,6 %, followed by Georgia with 25,6% and Turkey with 17%
According to the data revealed by the Azerbaijan Statistical Commitee, 77.9% of the visitors were men and 22.1% were women.
In the first eight months; number of Azerbaijan citizens traveled abroad was around 1 Million and top 3 destinations were Iran (31,8%), Georgia (28,5%) and Russia (19,9%)
