Turkey is suspending air travel from Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
According to a government statement of today no passengers from these countries will be allowed to enter Turkey starting on 1st of July. The decision was taken to prevent the spread of the new variants of covid-19 within the country.
Those who come from another country, but have been in Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka in the last 14 days, will be required to quarantine for two weeks. They also need to submit a negative PCR test result taken maximum 72 hours before entering Turkey. The quarantine will end If the PCR test result, taken at the end of the 14th day, is negative.
Turkey also reduced the duration of the mandatory quarantine for the visitors from Afghanistan and Pakistan to 10 days. This also includes those who have been in these 2 countries in the last 14 days.
if the PCR test applied on the 7th day of the quarantine, results negative, the quarantine will end . If the PCR test is positive, action will be taken in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 guide.
Statement also says passengers arriving from the UK, Iran, Egypt and Singapore will be required to submit a negative PCR test report taken maximum 72 hours prior to entry.
