Belavia, national carrier of Belarus, has cancelled flights to 8 countries after EU banned Belarusian airlines from the airspace and airports of the member states.
Belavia said it has cancelled flighst to Warsaw, Milan, Amsterdam, Rome, Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Hannover, Vienna, Brussels, Barcelona and Kaliningrad through October 30.
Carrier also canceled the flights to Tallinn from 28 May to 28 August 2021 for the same reason.
Last Sunday A Ryanair plane that took off from Athens to Vilnius was diverted by Belarusian authorities to the airport in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Journalist Roman Protasevich, former editor of the Nexta group opposed to the Belarusian administration, was detained before the plane was allowed to continue its flight.
After the incident EU banned Belarusian airlines from the airspace and airports of the member states.
