Airbnb extends party ban through end of summer

Popular home-sharing platform, Airbnb has announced that the party ban in homes listed on its site has been extended until at least the end of summer 2021.


Airbnb banned house parties in August 2020 to prevent crowds from gathering due to the coronavirus outbreak. The company says the ban will continue until the end of summer.

Airbnb has been implementing a number of other measures to prevent unauthorized house parties. In the USA, Canada, UK , France and Spain, young people under the age of 25 can only make reservations at locations that are close to where they live and include the entire home listing if they have a positive review history on Airbnb.


And in the US, company announced that guests without a history of positive reviews on Airbnb will be prohibited from making one night reservations in entire home listings in the United States during July 4th weekend, as part of efforts to promote safe and responsible travel.
