AIDA Cruises applies for German state aid

AIDA Cruises a subsidiary of the Carnival Group has applied for state aid from the German Economic Stabilization Fund.


According to a report from NDR 1 Radio MV; AIDA Cruises, applied for a loan of 400 million Euros from the German state.


AIDA had to suspend its operations after the German lockdown were announced recently. The company hopes to start sailings in the Canary Islands, Mediterranean and Middle East before the end of the year.


In Germany, travel companies like TUI, Lufthansa and FTI Group received loans from the same fund.
