Delta Air Lines To Charge Unvaccinated Employees $200 Per Month

Delta, one of the largest airlines in the USA, announced that unvaccinated employees will be subject to a $200 monthly surcharge starting from November 1st.

In a letter to employees yesterday; Delta CEO Ed Bastian said average hospital stay for COVID-19 has cost Delta $50,000 per person and 200 dollars will be deducted from unvaccinated employees’ pays.

Bastian also said that unvaccinated employees will be required to wear masks indoors and will be required to be tested every week starting September 12. Those who test positive will naturally stay in quarantine outside the workplace.

75% of Delta employees are vaccinated.

In the US, United Airlines requires all employees to be vaccinated. Southwest Airlines, American Airlines and Delta announced that they would not take such a decision.
