Jet2 reports that bookings to Turkey doubled

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have once again reported a spike in customers booking flights and holidays on the back of positive news – with bookings to Turkey doubling following comments by the Turkish Tourism Minister saying that holidaymakers from the UK will be welcome this summer.

In response to this demand, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has put over 100 additional flights on sale to Turkey, giving customers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility.

Extra capacity has been added to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman with additional flights operating from late-June to late-October, with a focus on the late-Summer season.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays saw a 1,000% spike in bookings immediately following the Prime Minister’s announcement of an exit roadmap from lockdown, and this strong demand has continued. Since then, a number of countries across Europe and the Mediterranean, including Greece, Spain, Cyprus and Portugal, have announced that UK holidaymakers will be welcome this summer – which has translated into an immediate rush of bookings to get away to enjoy a much-needed holiday.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Turkey has continued to be a popular choice, and the welcome news that UK holidaymakers can enjoy the Turkish sunshine this summer has translated into an immediate rush of bookings. We already have fantastic choice on sale to Turkey from across our network of UK bases, and these additional flights and holidays come in direct response to the demand that we have been seeing. Once again, customers are telling us that they want to get away, and once again we are quick to respond to that – giving customers and independent travel agents even more choice when it comes to getting away on a real package holiday.”

“We know our customers want to get away and we know that our destinations are keen to welcome them. The UK government has shown that there is a clear ambition to reopen international travel in the coming months and we look forward to more detail in due course. This week marks one year since international travel was first shut down because of the pandemic, and there are sunnier skies ahead. As soon as travel reopens, we will be ready to take our customers on their well-deserved holidays.”
