Italy’s flag carrier airline Alitalia is shutting down. After long negotiations, the European Union and the Italian government agreed in mid-July to close the bankrupt Alitalia and establish ITA as a new company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new airline, ITA, received the necessary licences for air transportation and ticket sales from the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (Enac) last week and will start flights as of October 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
