Formula 1 canceled the Canadian Grand Prix in the 7th round of the 2021 calendar and announced that the races will be held in Istanbul between June 11 and 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision is due to ongoing travel restrictions in Canada and a mandatory 14-day quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Istanbul returns to the calendar after the exciting race that took place last November after a 9-year break, where Lewis Hamilton became the world champion with a record for the seventh time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Formula 1 was organized in Turkey between 2005-2011 and then Turkey was removed from the calendar. However, last year, after 9 years, Istanbul hosted F1 on 13-15 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1 said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile it is disappointing we cannot be in Canada this season we are excited to confirm that Turkey will host a Grand Prix in 2021 after an amazing race last season,\u201d
