Late on Friday, Turkey’s Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced that starting from 28th of December, all passengers entering Turkey by air will need to present a Negative PCR test result, made no earlier than 72 hours before departure.
Minister Koca said in a statement due to the increase in the number of cases all over the world and the acceleration of the epidemic, new measures were needed for arrivals from abroad.
From Monday, December 28, all passengers arriving by air are required to submit a negative PCR tests done in the last 72 hours. Those who do not present the negative PCR test results will not be allowed for boarding the airplanes flying to Turkey.
Minister said same will be applied to passengers arriving by road and sea as of 30th of December.
The new policy will be valid untill 1st of March 2021.
On the other hand those who have been in UK, Denmark and South Africa in the last 10 days, will be asked to present a negative PCR test result and quarantined in their residents. If the second tests to be done on the 7th day of the quarantine are negative, their quarantine will be terminated, and if they test positive, they will be medically taken care.
Turkey reported 256 deaths and 17.543 cases in the last 24 hours.
