Around 30.000 Turkish tourists visited Georgia in June according to statistics released by the Georgia National Tourism Administration.
Country hosted total of 146,664 foreign tourists in June with a 287% increase over 2020, but 80% drop over 2019.
Turkish nationals ranked first with 29,606 visits among foreign tourists visiting Georgia, followed by Israel, Ukraine, Russia and Armenia.
While 52.5% of the tourists arrived by land, 46.7% preferred the air way. Tbilisi Airport welcomed the most tourists with 31.6% share, Batumi Airport was the second (17.2% ) and Sarp Land Border( 13.4%) was the third busiest border gate.
Starting from June 1, Georgia opened its land borders. Passengers can enter Georgia without the need for PCR testing, simply by presenting their vaccination certificates.
Those who do not have a certificate can enter the country if they submit PCR test results not older than 72 hours and have an additional PCR test on the third day of their entry.
