Cruise ship arrives in İzmir, Turkey for a sad fate

The 25-year-old Carnival Imagination has made her last stop and arrived in Izmir, Turkey to be scrapped.


İt’s the 3rd ship belonging to Carnival Cruise Line that anchored in İzmir Aliağa for their sad fate.

Previously, Carnival Fantasy and Carnival Inspiration came to the ship scrapping facility in İzmir Aliağa for the same purpose.

The ship has completed the last cruise from the Caribbean on Tuesday. In addition to Carnival’s 3 ships, the Monarch of the Seas and Sovereign of the Seas ships are also being scrapped at the facility.


Carnival Corporation previously announced that it will release a total of 18 ships in its fleet.


Carnival Imagination was built in 1995 and before suspension, it was operating on the west coast of the United States. İt has a capacity of 2,000 passengers and weighs 70,367 gross tons. The ship used to have 920 crew members.
