Argentina suspends flights to Turkey

Argentina suspended flights to/from Turkey with a decision announced on Saturday.


Argentine government has announced a series of new travel restrictions, including the suspension of flights with Turkey, as part of the fight against the new variant of the coronavirus.


Flight bans to the UK, Brazil, Chile and India will remain, while the government extends the closure of the country’s borders to foreigners until June 25.


In addition to Turkey, the entire African continent was also included in the flight bans. The government also announced that air traffic with Europe would be reduced by 20%.


According to Worldometer, over 18 thousand new coronavirus cases were reported on June 12 in Argentina, which has a population of approximately 45 million. 85,000 people have died in the country due to the epidemic so far.
