According to the latest report of Airports Council International Europe, the busiest airport in Europe was Antalya Airport with 2.25 million passengers in September.
ACI Europe emphasized that air traffic in Europe is 81% below last year as of now and total passenger loss reached 1.5 billion as of 15 November.
The research highlights that airports in Russia and Turkey are outperforming other markets, due to the relative dynamism of their domestic market.
In September, the busiest airport in Europe was Antalya with 2.25 million passengers (-53.5%). Moscow-Sheremetyevo (-53.5%), Moscow-Domodedovo (-26.2%) and Istanbul (-26.2%) 71) follow Antalya.
London-Heathrow, which normally always tops the list, was only able to hold 10th in September 2020. Among other major airports, Paris-CDG ranked 8th and Amsterdam-Schiphol ranked 9th.
Turkey and Russia dominate the top five with 3 and 2 airports respectively
