The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced a temporary leadership change ahead of its Global Summit, scheduled to take place in Rome from September 28-30. WTTC President and CEO Julia Simpson will be unable to attend the summit due to health reasons.
In her absence, former WTTC President and CEO Gloria Guevara has temporarily returned to the role. Both WTTC Chairman Greg O’Hara and Vice-Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre have wished Simpson a speedy recovery and expressed confidence in Guevara’s extensive experience in the sector and her support during this critical period.
Gloria Guevara, who previously served as Mexico’s Minister of Tourism, was the CEO of WTTC from 2017 to 2021. Her return to the temporary leadership position ensures continuity and stability for the organization as it prepares for one of its most important annual events.
