Ukraine closes the borders to foreigners

Ukraine to close the borders to foreigners for 1 month due to the increasing cases of covid-19 in the country.


Initially the ban will be valid from 29 August to 28 September.


Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said the transit passengers who will leave the country within 2 days, students studying in Ukraine and residence permit holders will be exempted from the decision.

The minister also stated that there are some other exceptions, such as military groups on NATO missions, and diplomatic missions.


As per the worldometer data, 110,000 cases of covid-19 have been detected in Ukraine while 2,354 people have died.
