British Transport Minister Grant Shapps announced that eight countries, including Turkey, Pakistan, Maldives and Egypt are removed from the red list as of 22 September.
Minister Shapps announced in his message on his Twitter account that 8 countries, including Turkey, Pakistan and Maldives, were removed from the red list.
Other countries are Egypt, Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladesh and Kenya. These countries are added to the amber list as of September 22. Fully vaccinated passengers returning from these countries will be able to enter the UK without quarantine.
With this decision, travel from these countries to the UK will also be possible.
The Minister of Transport also said that the traffic iight system will change from October 4 and there will only be a ‘red list’, while simplified measures will be applied for the rest of the world. Amber list will be scrapped.
From 4 October, fully vaccinated British citizens returning from non-red list countries will no longer have to undergo a pre-arrival PCR test.
