Ryanair Postpones Full Digital Boarding Pass Transition
Ryanair has announced a postponement in its plan to fully transition to a digital-only boarding pass system, a move originally scheduled for November 3rd, 2025. The new date for the complete switch is now set for November 12th, 2025.
According to Ryanair’s Marketing Chief, Dara Brady, the change aims to ensure a smoother transition for passengers after the busy semester holiday period. The airline’s goal is to make the travel experience faster, smarter, and more environmentally friendly.
Approximately 80% of Ryanair’s 200 million passengers already use the digital boarding pass option available through the “myRyanair” app, which also offers features like live flight information and in-seat ordering.
However, the new rule will have exceptions. Airports in Morocco, Turkey (with the exception of Dalaman), and Tirana, Albania, will continue to accept printed boarding passes due to local regulations. Additionally, passengers can have a paper boarding pass reissued free of charge at the airport if their phone’s battery dies.
