According to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Greece, the country’s 7-month tourism revenue fell by 86% from January to July, reaching 1.255 Billion Euros.
Like any other country, Covid-19 and related travel bans sharply shrinked tourism revenue of Greece too.
In the first 7 months last year, Greece’s tourism income was 9,16 Billion Euros. The number of tourists coming to the country has also decreased by 80.1% compared to 2019.
Similarly, Greece’s tourism expenditures also decreased by 68% to 496 Million Euros, while the country’s tourism spending was 1.57 Billion Euros in the 7-month period last year.
