Europe to use traffic light colors for covid-19 travel restrictions

The European Commission has made a recommendation to ensure that travel restrictions on covid-19 imposed by Member States are coordinated at EU level.

As per the practice proposed by the Commission , the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control will publish a map of Europe, which will be updated weekly and color the countries according to the risk situation related to covid-19.

Green, orange, red and gray colors will be used on the map

Green: Countries with less than 25 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people over a 14-day period, and less than 3% cases in all tests

Orange: Countries with less than 50 cases per 100,000 people for the last 14 days and 3% or more in all tests or / countries with a number of cases between 25-150 and less than 3% in all tests

Red: where the number of cases is more than 50 per 100,000 people over a 14-day period and the number of cases is 3% or more in all tests or / the number of cases is more than 150 per 100,000 people

Gray: Countries with insufficient information to evaluate the criteria proposed by the Commission, or countries with less than 250 tests per 100,000 people

Commission; Emphasizing that people traveling from an area classified as red or gray should be allowed entry provided that they are quarantined by member states or preferably subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival, while those traveling from an area classified as orange should have at least one COVID prior to travel or on arrival. He recommended the -19 test.
