Anatoly Gusarov, ex Belavia CEO, dies at age 72

On July 16, 2021, the civil aviation of the Republic of Belarus suffered an unbearable loss – after a long illness at the age of 72 the first Director General of Belavia – Belarusian Airlines, Anatoly Nikolayevich Gusarov, passed away.

Anatoly Nikolayevich began his career for the benefit of civil aviation in Belarus in 1972 as an engineer at the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407 after graduating from the Riga Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers. He devoted 49 years to his beloved business.

Anatoly Nikolayevich became the head of Belavia – Belarusian Airline from the moment of its creation in 1996. Over the 25 years of his work as Belavia Director General (CEO) he managed to create a successful airline with the most modern fleet that is given well-deserved respect by industry partners around the world. During his work as Belavia head A.N. Gusarov has created an effective team of professionals and has always deserved respect and honor of the airline employees, colleagues and partners.

After leaving the post of Belavia – Belarusian Airlines Director General in early 2021, Anatoly Nikolayevich continued to work for the benefit of the airline as an advisor to the Director General.

The airline staff mourns the passing of A.N. Gusarov and expresses deep condolences to the family and friends of Anatoly Nikolayevich.
