Accor, world leading hospitality group, and WING, one of Hungary’s leading property developers and investors, entered an agreement for the opening of a double branded hotel – TRIBE and ibis – into the South wing of Liberty office project, which is targeting BREEAM excellence. The hotels are scheduled to open in Autumn 2023 and will be managed by Accor.
TRIBE is one of Accor’s fastest growing brands across Europe, which reshapes the traditional hotel experience and enables guests to live, work and play in contemporary spaces. TRIBE aims to surprise travellers with an original, exciting and carefully curated product and services that focus on style rather than price. TRIBE hotels are 4-star midscale hotels designed to be vibrant and aspirational with liveable, stylish and supremely functional areas. Designed for the modern traveller, the brand expresses a new definition of affordable luxury at every opportunity – a place to be, meet, play and work in style.
A premiere for Hungarian market, the new TRIBE Budapest brings 166 guest rooms offering the utmost comfort and the latest technologies. The hotel concept includes vibrant living spaces on the ground floor, centred around a welcoming lobby area and a lounge, which also functions as a business corner. The hotel will also offer an à la carte restaurant with summer terrace, open from morning to evening, a sky bar, a fitness area, underground parking and accessible rooms for guests. The conference centre of the hotel can accommodate up to 220 people, with a multifunctional events room that can be divided into four separate sections. The building is designed by DPi design.
The ibis brand is constantly transforming the standards of economy hotels and is becoming ever more welcoming, flexible and vibrant. The brand reinvented its model from a standardized approach to a more flexible and personalized one, made possible by four new design concepts: Square, Agora, Plaza and Soda. There will be 166 ibis hotel rooms within the Liberty project following the urban Plaza design concept. Simplicity has never been so comfortable – the rooms have been designed in a modern style and feature a bookshelf as the centerpiece. The exclusive functional layouts and the different types of space open up new possibilities for guests, whether they are travelling alone, with their partner, with family or friends, ibis has the solution and now offers rooms that can accommodate up to six people. Urban living comes to the heart of the hotels – a cosmopolitan space to meet, play, work and relax, the Plaza public space is an open and inviting living space offering vibrant and modern hospitality.
“Budapest is a leading European and global tourism destination, with excellent infrastructure and exciting cultural, business and lifestyle attractions. The city is a key market for Accor in the region and beyond. This is why we chose to bring here some of our boldest and most innovative concepts – the new TRIBE, a midscale brand for contemporary nomads, and the new generation of ibis hotels – the most dynamic accommodation alternative on the economy segment.” stated Camil Yazbeck, Senior Vice President, Head Of Development, Accor Northern Europe.
“Joining hands with leading global hospitality group Accor for the hotel component of Liberty, our mixed-use project, gives us the certainty that we are bringing truly innovative products and services to the market, delivered by passionate hoteliers, with attention to details and care for the environment. Accor’s professional team and global know-how ideally complement our development capabilities and support us in fulfilling our vision of turning the TRIBE and ibis Hotels into a landmark for business and leisure travelers, as well as for our local community,” says Norbert Schőmer, Deputy CEO of WING Zrt. in charge of office development.
The new hotels will be in the South wing of Liberty project in District IX of Budapest at the crossing of Könyves Kálmán körút and Albert Flórián út, immediately next to Groupama Arena and the Telekom Headquarters. Due to their location, they have excellent transport connections by M3 metro, by tram 1, by train and long-distance bus. The hotels are 15 minutes away from the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport and in Direct proximity to motorways through the M5 access road.
