Taiwan’s New Travel Rule: Digital Arrival Card Required

Taiwan has implemented a new travel requirement for all international visitors, effective October 1, 2025. Travelers must now complete a digital “Taiwan Arrival Card” (TWAC) no more than 72 hours before their trip. This new regulation is intended to streamline immigration procedures and enhance security for foreign nationals entering the country.

Who Needs to Fill Out the Card?

The TWAC is mandatory for all visitors, with a few exceptions: individuals holding a Foreign Resident Permit, Resident Visa, or a Diplomatic ID card are exempt from the requirement.

The form asks for basic personal details, including passport number, nationality, email address, occupation, and the address of the traveler’s accommodation in Taiwan.

Officials advise travelers to fill out the form completely and have a copy on hand upon arrival to avoid potential delays at the airport. It’s important to note that the card is completely free, and no financial information, such as credit card details, is requested.
