U.S. Foreign Worker Visa to Cost $100,000

A new executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump aims to restrict the entry of foreign workers, with a new rule setting a $100,000 annual fee for H-1B visa applications.

The move, which specifically targets the way technology companies use the skilled foreign worker program, is a continuation of previous measures. The Trump administration argues that the program has been used to bring in lower-wage foreign workers instead of hiring qualified American citizens. The primary justification for the order is to protect the U.S. labor market and increase job opportunities for American citizens.

The decision has sparked debate among both employers and immigration advocates. While supporters say the order will prioritize national employment, opponents argue that it will make it more difficult for talented foreign workers, who contribute to the U.S. economy, to enter the country.
