New Four Seasons to open in Napa Valley

The highly anticipated Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley will welcome its first arrivals in early spring 2021 in the heart of California’s famed wine region. Representing Napa Valley’s first and only resort set within a working winery, guests will be treated to an incomparable hospitality experience centred on exceptional food, wine and spirits, plus wellness-inspired amenities, authentic service, and a distinct, approachable luxury environment akin to its locale in the charming town of Calistoga.

“Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley is ushering in a new wine country,” says General Manager Mehdi Eftekari. “It is an extraordinary destination set amid the vineyards where wine, wellness, culinary and design all converge. We are eager and excited to welcome guests to book and plan their incredible wine country vacations next year.”

The new Resort is located at 400 Silverado Trail in the quaint town of Calistoga, tucked into the base of Mount Saint Helena at the top of Napa Valley and surrounded by hundreds of acres of vineyards. Calistoga beckons a sense of discovery with its rich history, natural hot springs, mud baths, and laid-back lifestyle, just 90 minutes and yet a world away from San Francisco, the Bay Area and Sacramento. Accommodations at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley are sanctuaries, with each room boasting breath-taking views, fireplaces, private terraces and design by one of the world’s most celebrated interior designers, Erin Martin, in conjunction with Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA).

With only 85 spacious guest rooms, one-bedroom suites, and The Estate Villa – a nearly 3,400-square-foot (315 square metre) free-standing building nestled at the edge of the on-site vineyard – the Resort promises to be an intimate retreat that invites guests to explore the lush nature and natural beauty that surrounds it. Within the property, couples and families will have access to the tranquil Spa Talisa inspired by Calistoga’s 150+ years of healing tradition and featuring signature treatments using indigenous ingredients and outdoor steam pods for the Native Steam Treatment – an authentic Calistoga ritual; two outdoor swimming pools each nestled amid the vineyard with scenic views; and renowned, fully supervised Kids for All Seasons program; as well as several unique dining experiences including Campo Poolside and TRUSS Restaurant and Bar, a spirited dining destination by acclaimed Chef Erik Anderson, destined to become a must-visit among Napa Valley’s legendary culinary scene.

“Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley is the only property in the region that sits on an active winery, so guests will be afforded a true grape-to-glass experience in illustrious wine country,” says Director of Marketing Kelly Nelson. “The Resort will afford guests unique opportunities to taste complex, age-worthy wines and enjoy immersive, hands-on and educational experiences and tasting sessions steps from their rooms.”

Calistoga resident and world-class winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown operates the winemaking program at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley. A native of South Carolina, Brown began his California winemaking career in 1997, and has since made a name for himself as a non-interventionist, creating wines that showcase the vineyard foremost. Renowned wine critic Robert Parker Jr. awarded him 25 perfect 100-point scores on his cabernet sauvignon projects over the past decade.

The Resort concierge team’s deep connections in the community and throughout the region open the doors to creating highly curated, enriching itineraries for guests. Experiences range from a trip to the renowned Safari West for families with young, animal-loving kids, guided bike tours through the local country roads and hidden valleys, to an oenophiles’ excursion through the region’s best under-the-radar wine tasting experiences, plus gallery hopping, boutique shopping, scenic drives and off-the-beaten path diversions for families, couples and friends alike.

Event venue highlights at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley include the Vineyard Barn, a rustic-chic space with high ceilings and large barn doors, filled with natural light and adjacent to a stunning lawn with views of the vineyard; and the Calistoga Ballroom and adjacent Lakeside Lawn that overlooks the garden, lake and Mayacamas Mountains in the distance. Wedding couples, event hosts and meeting planners are invited to contact 707 403 7200 to arrange pre-opening site tours and book events for mid-2021 onward.
