Hilton Izmir Hotel, which has been open since 1992 and is Izmir’s second five-star hotel, is closing.
According to the local media in Turkey , Hilton Izmir management announced that the hotel will not be operated by the Hilton Chain as of October 16th.
The statement made by the management said:
“Hilton Izmir will not be operated by Hilton as of October 16, 2020.
We are proud of the exemplary hospitality Hilton Izmir has shown so far and we thank everyone who contributed to this process.
We will continue our activities in Izmir with our hotels serving in four different locations: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Izmir Alsancak, Hilton Garden Inn Izmir Bayraklı, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Izmir Airport and Hampton by Hilton Izmir Aliaga.”
There was no explanation for the reason of the closure.
Hilton Izmir, with its 142-meter building consisting of 33 floors, was the tallest building in Izmir back in 1992, the year it was completed.
