Reportedly flights between Turkey and Iran, which were previously announced to begin on September 1, are delayed until October.
Head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Authority Touraj Dehqan NEW Zanganeh said:
“Turkey-Iran flights are postponed until October 2. “We are trying to restart flights with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant bodies.”
Turkish Airlines previously announced that it will start flying to five cities in Iran as of September 1 for Turkish citizens.
The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced on July 19 that flights with Iran and Afghanistan were mutually suspended due to increased covid-19 cases, while the second suspension was till September.
In Iran, there have been 21,672 casualties due to covid-19 so far, while the total number of cases is approximately 377,000.
