Norwegian cuts further jobs, reduces capacity

Norwegian is cutting further jobs and reducing the capacity significantly after Government refused additional financial support.

A statement from CEO Jacob Schram of Norwegian says ”Following today’s disappointing announcement from the government, we have no choice but to furlough an additional 1,600 colleagues and park 15 of the 21 aircraft we’ve operated the past months.”

The CEO said the airlines employed more than 10.000 employees prior to covid-19 crisis and there will be only 600 active workers to be kept in the coming months.
