Belavia, national carrier of Belarus, has extended the suspension of flights to 28 destinations due to the ongoing EU ban on Belarus flights.
The carrier will not be flying to following destinations till December 14, 2021:
Vienna, Brussels, London, Budapest, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hanover, Munich, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Larnaca, Riga, Vilnius, Kishinev, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Belgrade, Kiev, Odessa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Helsinki, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, Tallinn and Kaliningrad.
Belavia currently operates flights to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, charter flights to Turkey, Egypt and Jordan.
In May a Ryanair plane that took off from Athens to Vilnius was diverted by Belarusian authorities to the airport in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Journalist Roman Protasevich was detained before the plane was allowed to continue its flight.
After the incident, EU banned Belarusian airlines from the airspace and airports of the member states.
