Air passenger traffic falls 32,5% in Russia

The Russian Federal Aviation Authority today revealed the passenger statistics for September.


According to the Agency’s data; Russian airlines carried 8.65 million passengers in September with a 32.5% year on year drop.


Siberia, which has been trading as S7 Airlines with the merger of Siberia and Globus since the beginning of 2020, carried 1.43 million passengers in September 2020. Compared to the same period last year, the carrier’s passenger traffic increased by 4.8%.

Aeroflot the -flag carrier- served 1.32 million passengers in September, while the company’s passenger number fell 59.5% compared to September last year.


In September 2020, Pobeda carried 1.14 million passengers (+ 17.8%) , Rossiya – 882 thousand (- 32.5%), Ural Airlines – 889 thousand (- 10.6%) passengers.


All Russian Airlines served 52.56 million passengers in the first nine months of 2020 and passenger air traffic decreased by 47% year on year.
