Pantelleria Airport to Be Named After Fashion Legend Giorgio Armani

The Mayor of Pantelleria described the move as a “symbolic gesture of respect,” stating that the designer has provided great support for the island’s progress. Located southwest of Sicily, Pantelleria is a volcanic island known as the “black pearl of the Mediterranean.” Armani’s deep connection to the island dates back to the 1970s.
