Turkish Airlines revealed its traffic data for September with a filing sent to Istanbul Stock Market
According to the shared data, Turkish flag carrier carried 2.38 million passengers in September, while the number of passengers was 6.74 million in September 2019. Thus, the number of passengers decreased by 64.6% on a monthly basis.
The carrier made 10,747 domestic and 7,467 international flights in September. While international flights decreased by 71.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, the decrease in domestic flights was 37%.
The occupancy ratio, which was 82.9% in September last year, was recorded as 68.9% in September 2020.
Looking at the data for the first nine months between January and September, the total number of passengers, which was 56.4 million in the January-September 2019 period, was 21.62 million in the same period of 2020.
The decrease in the number of passengers was 61.7%.
In the first nine months, the airline made a total of 159,071 flights, of which 80,094 domestic and 78,977 international, this figure was 370,724 last year. The nine-month decline in the number of flights was 57.1%.
The carrier’s occupancy ratio, which was 81.4% in the first nine months of last year, was 73.3% in the first nine months of 2020.
